With their legacy ecommerce platform reaching its end-of-life, Apricorn, a leader in secure external computer hardware, faced an urgent need to migrate and redesign its outdated site. The original site, with its cumbersome navigation and dated design, was hindering user experience and competitiveness. Key challenges included migrating custom content and product data, maintaining SEO authority, and implementing multi-language and multi-currency features for a global audience. Apricorn needed a comprehensive overhaul to streamline and optimize its site, enhancing both usability and performance.

Fulcrum Commerce took on the challenge by leveraging its expertise in ecommerce platforms and data-driven design. We migrated from Apricorn’s site to BigCommerce, using Shogun to efficiently rebuild product pages and handle custom data fields. Our team designed a new style guide, incorporating modern fonts, color schemes, and patterns that were more aligned with Apricorn’s branding. We also implemented BigCommerce’s GEO-IP functionality to provide automatic IP lookup, essential for accurate shipping rates, currency exchanges, language options, and sales tax rates. The result was a seamless, user-friendly, and visually appealing site that elevated Apricorn’s online presence.
