Fulcrum helped India’s biggest export house, which started operations in 1974 in Delhi. The client offers a wide range of clothing lines for Men, Women, Kids, and Home products. The client was facing a critical issue with technological advances in the “Invoice processing system”.
Dependency on manual systems, posed issues for the client on a regular basis. There was a high possibility of human errors due to fatigue or distraction. Delegating this task to a robot removes the possibility of fatigue or distraction. A total of 10 full-time employees were constantly engaged in all of the operational steps. This process reduced their ability to dedicate staff time to other tasks and resulted in a loss of productivity.
Solution
The client wanted a technology partner for a proof of concept (POC) to demonstrate the advantages of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and make an informed decision to implement the services enterprise-wide. As a certified partner of “UiPath,” Fulcrum undertook a complete POC of the manual processes and provided a roadmap to convert the AS-IS process.
Robots reduced errors arising from human components from fatigue or lack of knowledge, creating low operational risk. Automating tasks saved overheads and improved production output. Moreover, automation software and robots cost less than full-time personnel. To suitably leverage AI and RPA, companies must define clear governance procedures allowing for faster internal reporting, onboarding, and other internal activities.
